Leica lust continues
Posted in This Just In... on April 7th, 2009 by gkrakowSay the name Leica to a photographer and their eyes begin to tear. Their 35mm rangefinder cameras have always been top-notch. Newspaper (remember them?) cameramen always used them – even after SLRs became all the rage.
The world’s mad rush from film to digital slowed Leica down a bit – but you can never count them out. Their most recent digital model, the M8, now allows you to use all of the “M” series accessories (lenses, filters, etc.) from previous, high-performance M-series cameras.
The M8 retails for a few pennies short of $4K. Leicas, including the M8, usually come in silver-and-black or all black. But now, there’s word of a new, all-white, limited edition M8. It’s sure to be an immediate collector’s item. No official word on what that great looking version will sell for.
